Liberal Arts
College of Liberal Arts focuses on humanistic education and research and offers various programs of Chinese language and literature, history, and cultural studies. There are 111 faculty members and staff in total; among the 92 faculty members, 33 are full professors and 29 are associate professors. It consists of three departments: Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Department of History and Department of Culture Studies, offering BA, MA, PhD and Post-Doctoral programs of Chinese Language and Literature, History, and Global Studies. We are devoted to the cultivation of students, who will be able to meet all kinds of challenges with knowledge, insights and courage.

International Relations and Diplomacy is an English-taught post-graduate program specially designed for international
students. It is a sub-.eld of the multi-disciplinary
Post-graduate Program of Global Studies (PPGS) at ShanghaiUniversity. The graduate students are expected to get a deep understanding about the international relations between China and the West, especially the development of contemporary China under the global context by taking courses in History, Sociology, Language, Politics, etc.
Upon completion of the program, the graduate students should have a solid foundation of basic theories and requiredspecialized knowledge and skills to conduct researches independently.
Degree Awarded
The Post-graduate Program of International Relations and Diplomacy at Shanghai University is a cross-disciplinary one, which involves History, Sociology, Politics and Economics. Students can get an MA Degree of History.
